NEW for the NOW

Below is my journal entry from January 8th, 2018, as I spoke of in my July post "Behold the New", along with some current thoughts. The next post in this series will be my journal entry from January 9th. They build on one another, and I thank Holy Spirit for connecting the dots, filling in the lines, and painting His picture with vivid colors so we can grab hold of it and walk through the door!

Part 2
NEW for the NOW

Journal Entry  1-8-18

Order. God’s order for this day, this time, this season.
What His order looks like now. In the here and now. Living in the now.

Today is the 8th -  New Beginnings.       The Year 5778.

Trusting Holy Spirit to bring to my remembrance what I need to remember, and show me the new I need to see for the now. Building on the revelations from yesterday…for His revelation is progressive…but not getting stuck in yesterday. Living in the NOW!!

What do I need to see, hear, and know today?

As we mature in this ever-growing relationship with Father, it will look and feel different with each level. From one glory to the next as we are being changed into His likeness and walking in oneness with Him.

Don’t get hung up on yesterday…yesteryear.

His order for this day. His revelation for now.

What does He require of me now?
What does He have to show me today?
What does this year look like according to His will?
Who or where am I in Him today?

Shedding the old skin/shell so He can enlarge us.

 The process of growth.

Each time He enlarges us, the old skin/shell doesn’t fit anymore.

(The “Stand Up Straight” dream comes to mind.) **published on this blog 12-31-2016**

Thanking Father for His grace, mercy, wisdom, and understanding in the processes of navigating new, enlarged “territories” and growth.

17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory [from one degree of glory to another], just as by the Spirit of the Lord. (2 Corinthians 3:17-18)

17 Now, if anyone is enfolded into Christ, he has become an entirely new [kainos] creation. All that is related to the old order has vanished. Behold, everything is fresh and new.
(2 Corinthians 5:17) (TPT)

16 No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch pulls away from the garment, and the tear is made worse. 17 Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new [neos] wine into new [kainos] wineskins, and both are preserved.” (Matthew 9:16-17)

New Wine:
New = neos: suggests something “new in time  (in contrast to its near-synonym kainos
 which is “new in quality”)
neos: new (“new on the scene”); recently revealed or “what was not there before”, including what is recently discovered.

New Wineskins
New = kainos: “new in quality” (innovation), fresh in development or opportunity – because “not found like this before”.

The entirely new [kainos], fresh, “not found like this before” vessel is to hold, carry, and dispense the new [neos] revelation, discovery, mystery that “was not there before”.

If we belong to Father and are enfolded into Christ, WE are to be the NEW [kainos] wineskins that hold, carry, and dispense the NEW [neos] wine! We are to be the vessels that carry and allow Holy Spirit to dispense through us His new revelation and mystery that hold within them the knowledge, wisdom, and power of God.

But we need to trust the Maker of the New Wine and the New Wineskins! We need to allow our Maker to shape us into His new wineskin (both individually and corporately) to carry His new wine. The only way we will be entrusted to be carriers of the new wine, the new revelation, the new vision, the new thing, is if we are willing to let go of the former things.

“Behold, I do a new thing. Do you not perceive it?”

If an old wineskin is not willing to be transformed in relationship with its Maker and attempts to carry the new wine, both the potential of the new revelation and the old wineskin will be compromised and possibly ruined. An old wineskin cannot hold or carry new wine. It can be a grievous thing when there is mixture of the two. Obedience is better than sacrifice. Love is better than ritual. Living by the Spirit is better than tradition or rules taught by men. One carries Life and the other carries death.

We will only live in the fullness of all that He has designed us to when we let go of the former things and allow God to have His order in this day. We can’t allow ourselves to get stuck in yesterday…no matter how glorious or how terrible we perceived it to be.

When we are in love with our Maker, surrendering to the sound of His voice and the purpose of His heart, we allow Him to transform us from one glory to the next. This enables us to carry the wine He desires to pour out in this time and at this level!

There is SO MUCH MORE…but to see, hear, and know, we must let go of the old.

A line of the song “New Wine” by Hillsong has really been resonating with me since we worshipped with it and released it over a region on a ministry trip this last May:

I lay down my old flames to carry Your new Fire today.”

“Yes, Jesus…make us Your vessels, and bring Your new wine out of us. We surrender to the work of Your Spirit to make us ready for this new era in the Father’s order.”

Surrendered,
