Mantle of God's Order

As I sat on the beach of a mountain lake last week talking with the Lord, a small fox came onto the sand just a few feet away from me. He paused in his step and we sat staring at each other. He stayed for a few minutes and then walked back into the trees. At the end of my time on the beach that morning, I got up to leave and a few mountain blue jays flew directly in front of me in descent from a tall pine (there was significance in this from a previous experience with Father God). I lingered in this moment as I watched them and enjoyed the love of my Father. My heart was full of gratitude to our good Father, Daddy God, for this gift of set-apart time and these “kisses” from Heaven.

Later, as I was thinking about these moments and again talking with the Lord, Matthew 8:20 came to me:

And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”

I am aware that this passage speaks about the cost of following Jesus, but Holy Spirit opened my eyes to see another layer of this scripture that I had not see before. My heart felt the deep yearning of the Lord to be among us and with us. My heart ached for Him...

With tears, I found myself patting my chest where my heart is and saying, "Lord, You can lay Your head here...You can find Your resting place here. You can make Your home here. Your dwelling place here..."

NEW for the NOW

As I spoke of in my July post "Behold the New", below is my journal entry from January 8th, 2018 along with some current thoughts, and the next post will be my journal entry from January 9th. They build on one another, and I thank Holy Spirit for connecting the dots, filling in the lines, and painting His picture with vivid colors so we can grab hold of it and walk through the door!

On January 8th of this year, Holy Spirit spoke two words to me…”Order” and “New”. I love His intentionality! Even though the new year according to God’s timeline had already begun (Year 5778 on Rosh Hashanah, September 21, 2017), He spoke these words to me on the 8th day of the first month of a new year according to the calendar of 2018. Just as the number seven symbolizes perfection, completion and fulfillment, the number eight symbolizes resurrection, regeneration, new beginnings, a new era, new order, a new creation.

The Army of the Lord is Rising

The Army of the Lord is rising. In groups of two or three, in homes, in houses of prayer, in small and large gatherings, on the streets, in the marketplace, in all spheres of influence…the Army of the Lord is assembling and rising to the Call in the full stature of Jesus Christ.

Wake Up. Rise Up. Shake Off the Dust.

You were neither meant to, nor created to conform to the status quo of the system of this world.

Your Creator who fashioned you, wove within your DNA the very fabric of who He is.

You have been made in His image…to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth. To see this creation liberated from the bondage of decay and brought back into the glorious freedom of the children of God.

OUT of the BOX

A box of any size is confining to the contents.

It is when the contents are taken out of the box that there is potential of its purpose.

Normally, the argument is that a box will keep the contents safe…safe yes, if the only thing one intends to do is put it in storage. (“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;" Matthew 6:19

"It is the glory of God to conceal a matter,
but the glory of kings is to search out a matter."
(Proverbs 25:2)

What a beautiful picture of a deep and ever-growing relationship between our Father and those who desire to know Him. As I read this verse, I can sense the yearning, anticipation, and delight on both sides of this relationship. It is a place of knowing someone that goes beyond the boundaries of casual head-knowledge, and into a living understanding that can only come through heart-knowledge. It is going beyond the surface; what we can see with our natural eyes, hear with our natural ears, understand with our carnal mind.
