The Opposite Gate

There has been an unlocking, an unfolding, the last two years of an experiential word the Lord gave in February of 2020. Several times I have begun to write this story, but it hasn’t fully come together to release this word, until now. 

So, this message is going out on the 22nd day in the 2nd month of the year 2022, on a Tuesday, 2 years after its occurrence.   

This is an Open Gate Day on Father’s timeline. 

This is a year of depths of covenant love like we have not yet experienced. In this time of convergence where two become one, I believe there will be an acceleration of His mysteries made known…Kingdom realities experienced, understood, and established.

The colors of this God-story are even more brilliant today as I have watched substance of it come into being over the past two years.

I ask Holy Spirit to speak to our hearts and highlight anything He wants us to see, to know, as we read the words of this experience. Before we get into the story, could we please lift our hearts to our Lord and King…

“Lord, we can’t go back the way we’ve come. There is no going back. What would we even go back to? You have the Words of Life…You ARE the Word of Life, and our hearts burn, knowing that we must be where YOU are. You have invited us to go beyond and discover the fullness of YOU, and the mysteries of Your heart for this coming age. You are showing us a template that we have not yet seen, a way that we have not yet been, and a glory that we have not yet known. We ask for Your grace to let it all go…the familiar, the comfortable, man’s “wisdom”, past graves and past glories…that we may KNOW YOU, and that Your fullness would be in the midst of us.”

The Opposite Gate

During a trip up to Montana for some Kingdom meetings in February of 2020, the Lord invited my friend and I on an adventure that was unexpected and packed full of His intentions.

The meetings concluded, but we were led to stay in Montana for an extra day on Father’s assignment. As we woke up the next morning, we found the weather had caused many road closures throughout the eastern side of Idaho, which was the way we had come. There were also hazardous road conditions through the center of the state.

We were leaning in to hear what the Lord was saying. After looking at the map and listening to my husband’s counsel, we found a promising path home. By the time we found our route and loaded the car, it was noon. Because of the late start we knew it would be a two-day journey, but Father’s peace led the way as we started down the road.

The first point Holy Spirit was unveiling, was that to make it to our destination, we weren’t allowed to go back the way we had come. The familiar will not take us to where we need to be. Our trust in the Lord must be absolute, beyond fear or comfort.

On the first leg of our journey, we had to go up, or ascend, to the northern portion of Idaho before continuing down the opposite side of the state. We need to ascend into His Council, to His Throne, to hear the heart of our Father before we know how to proceed in the new direction.

After we made our ascent, we began our descent, coming down through the eastern edge of Washington and then into Oregon. Nightfall was upon us, and we decided that we would make Pendleton our overnight stay. The sun is going down, my friend is in the driver’s seat, and I am entering our nighttime destination into my GPS. Even though we were on a main freeway, my GPS decided a short cut would be a good idea…ha!

It's now dark and we find ourselves on a two-lane highway running parallel to the Columbia River. Neither one of us had been this way before! And then, our navigation system takes us on yet one more turn that we were not so sure about. Now we are on a country road, in the dark, with only the headlights of my car shining into the night for miles. A drop off on one side of the road, here and there. Maybe a work barn’s outside light being seen occasionally. Up and down the hills on this country road we drove, hoping to see the city light’s glow of Pendleton.

Here we were in the middle of something that could have been fearful, travelling this unknown road in the dark with only our little headlights, and we began to laugh! We are laughing so hard the tears are rolling down our cheeks, and the manifest Presence of the Lord fills the car! Michelle and I are literally on the edge of our seats with expectation, and I say, “Father is unfolding something to us!” “Father, what are you showing us? What do you want us to know?!”

We then look up as we come upon another road to see if we can read the name of it. The name was Westgate Road. Another wave of His Presence comes, and I said, “He is speaking to us about the gates.” We come up over the last hill and the city lights come into view. As we approached the city, the road that we came in on was named Northgate Road. In the morning, before we continued our trip, we had coffee on Southgate Road (which was not planned, by the way).

The next day was beautiful, filled with sunshine and lovely cloud formations. His glorious Presence surrounded us as He continued to reveal His heart to us in this holy open Heaven adventure.

Some of what He was showing us was that we had totally encompassed Idaho (the "key") on our journey, and that we had touched most of the Northwest region to include Montana, Washington, and Oregon. With this, there was an awareness of the unlocking of the Northwest “Gate” to explode with the purposes of God. For our region. For our nation. For our world.

As we were discussing this, we noticed a very distinct sign in the sky. There was a cloud formation right overhead that had several extremely long strands that came to a point, like that of an arrow. It filled the entire sky. I asked my co-pilot to count the strands. Michelle counted fifteen, and she jokingly said, “seven for you, and eight for me.” The word immediately came that it was a sign of the convergence of the completion (seven) of one era and the beginning (eight) of a new era, and it is pointing the way to go.

Which brings us back full circle to the beginning of this story…

”we can’t go back the way we came.”

A couple of weeks later, through a series of events, Holy Spirit brought Ezekiel 46 to me, and especially verses 9 and 10…

9 “But when the people of the land come before the LORD on the appointed feast days, whoever enters by way of the north gate to worship shall go out by way of the south gate; and whoever enters by way of the south gate shall go out by way of the north gate. He shall not return by way of the gate through which he came, but shall go out through the opposite gate. 10 The prince shall THEN be in their midst. When they go in, he shall go in; and when they go out, he shall go out.

In this passage, God was giving Ezekiel a new template, a new blueprint of what worship would look like. It was much like the new blueprint of worship that Jesus was giving to the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4:23-24…

23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

There has been an awakening and the multitudes that have been in the valley of decision are coming out to the Lord. They are laying down their ways of familiarity on the altar of the Lord and are hearing His voice, “this is the way, walk in it.”

We can trust our GPS…God Piloting System…to navigate the path ahead of us. We can trust Jesus to shine His light on a way that we have not yet travelled on. He wants to take us into the fullness of Who He is. He is the Gate. He is the Door.

We have entered in by one gate, and He has invited us to come out the opposite gate, and not return by the way we came. For He, the Prince of Peace and King of Glory, desires to be in our midst!
