Embracing the Sword ~ By Connie Henage

There comes a time, there comes a place, a holy moment at a crossroads of decision in our journey with the Lord, where we are able to hear the longings of His heart…the invitation to be completely His. Where we feel our spirits burn with the Fire of His All-consuming Love. Where we know we are being invited into the depths of His heart, into searching out the mysteries of our Creator, into oneness with the Lover of our souls. A place where we come to the end of ourselves in futile intentions, and discover that our lives are no longer our own, but we are His…where True Life begins. Where His desires become the desires of our hearts, and we move as one with Him. Our lives hidden with Christ in God. We go where we have never gone, and we know like we have never known.

For many, the last couple of years have been a forging in the Fire, a crucible of the heart and a laying down of self. A vulnerable place. A transparent place. The most intimate place with the Lord. A place where the Bride is made ready in her “Yes” to the Lamb. A place where the sons of God rise into true identity because everything else has been burned away.  Mixture, unholy allegiances, self-righteousness, self-preservation, opinions, assumptions, offenses, pride, idolatry, intellectualism, past ways of doing and being…all burned up on His Altar.

Pure. Holy. Set apart. Marked. Branded. True. Righteous. His.

 The choice is ours…

Word of God, have Your way…

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12 NKJV)

It is my great joy and honor to share the following word from a beloved friend, sister of the heart, and Kingdom counterpart of almost thirty years. Connie is a valiant warrior fighting on behalf of the Lord’s Beloved, and the generations lost in darkness. She is a most beautiful expression of His selfless Bride.

Be exhorted, friends, and be loved!

Embracing the Sword

By Connie Henage

These Refining Fires Burn Hot!!! The stress and tension are so loud that you literally have to remind yourself to breathe, not look at the physical realm, hold on to Him in the darkest of moments, and keep moving forward in Him. Nothing makes sense, everything in you is short circuiting as your spirit, flesh, heart and mind try to navigate without making the situation worse.

Our stance in those moments "As His Beloved," is to hold His Double-Edged Sword as sharp and as deep as it goes. We hold it desperately close; with each breath it cuts deeper. We don't pull away from the pain; no, we press into the pain. We do this because we "know" there is no life in turning back, in remaining "who we were". We have to trust The Great I AM.

It's the Blood and Guts of His Altar
and the Refining Fires of His Intentions for His Beautiful Bride.

His journey for us is the most tangible evidence of His Long Suffering for us!!! He sees us when we are missing His mark, when things become commonplace, when our lamps are half lit. And He stops to brush away the residue of the world and dullness of the flesh, and He Reignites His Fresh Fires in us!!! What a story of Love…

I love that Double-Edged Sword. I love His conviction and correction. I love and trust His faithfulness for us and to us. The picture of being on our knees as the storms rage all around us; the fear, the resolve, the Truth, His intentions…all of that flooding in those dark moments. And we sit in silence holding that Sword to our chest, embracing it, no matter the pain or the cost. It’s all we had, and all we needed at the same time.

I love how beautiful surrender, humility, honor, faith, and His Love looks like on all of us. It's like we all carry a petal of His Purity in His Flower Garden. He brings us together in those moments of intense crushing where all our fragrances mix and become a pleasant offering unto our Lord.

…His Beautiful Transparent Bride that presses her heart into that Double-Edged Sword and becomes One with His Heart No Matter the Cost. No matter the price of our alabaster jars, we cannot go back to who we were!!! We KNOW too much to turn away from the One Who Purchased our hearts with His Love. What Love…
