A Living Understanding

This article is devoted in response to a comment on my last post entitled, "The Broad Expanse--There Is So Much More". In the comment, a question was posed to me, and it warrants the time and attention needed to expound upon.

Below is the comment and my response. I thank Holy Spirit for His perfect working, and for leading and guiding us into all truth.

Much love,
~ Tammy ~

The Comment: "sounds beautiful enough... my question is...is it truly based on Gods word? The word has been cast aside it seems for new revelations, experiential knowledge etc...is the Bible your source for truth?"

 My Response:

Thank you for your reply, and I so appreciate the opportunity for this discussion. Yes, it does sound beautiful, doesn’t it? It is the beautiful revelation of Jesus Christ and His mysteries unfolding and coming to life, from the books of Genesis to Revelation. It is the eternal purpose of God that He created us to know, experience, walk in, and live with Him for all time and eternity…starting now.

Thank you for your patience as my response is long (and could be longer), for there is so much to be said.

Please let me start by saying that the Bible is the infallible Word of God, and the Spirit of God breathes on it, bringing revelation and understanding. The mysteries of His Word are ever-unfolding. Layer upon layer. The revelation of His Word is ever-building, progressive. Precept upon precept. To Him, there is no end.

The Spirit of God hovered over the face of the deep waiting for the Word of God to come, and when there was union of the Sprit and the Word, there was an explosion of light and life. In the beginning was The Word. The Word was with God, the Word WAS God. Jesus is The Word. He is the Foundation. He is the Chief Cornerstone. The Plumbline. All things were created by Him, for Him, and through Him. He IS the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is the Reality that we walk in, live in, move in, and have our very being in. He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. He is the Fulfillment of all! HE is the One we love and worship.

God said that we are not to have any other gods before Him. I believe the disconnect from having a head knowledge of the Bible and living in the fullness of The Word has come from elevating the knowledge about The Word above THE WORD. (Knowledge puffs up. He came that we would experience Life and Life more abundantly…so the whole of creation will know and be restored to Him who is this Life!)

The intimacy and depth of richness in Scripture comes as we surrender to Holy Spirit and allow Him to show us the realities of the Father, the realities of the Son, and the realities of the Kingdom that we are from. It’s not just about having knowledge of The Word, it is about having relationship with The Word.

We could read about our spouse, our children, our grandchildren, and our friends all day long, but that is just having a carnal (head) knowledge about them. We step over into true relationship and intimacy (heart knowledge) with those we love as we engage with one another, as we experience one another through heart-to-heart dialogue, sharing time together, having fun together, through hugs and touch. Father and our Lord Jesus isn’t looking for those who know about Them, They are searching for those who will worship Them in Spirit and in truth. They desire to have a heart-to-heart relationship, a face-to-face relationship with us. That is why Jesus, THE Word, came…to restore us to this original intent of Father’s design.

Jesus said in Matthew 7:21-23,  “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never KNEW you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’  (To get a fuller scope, it is great to read verse 13 through 29.) In the Greek, the word “knew” in verse 23 is: 1097 ginṓskō – properly, to know, especially through personal experience (first-hand acquaintance). 1097 /ginṓskō ("experientially know") is used for example in Lk 1:34, "And Mary [a virgin] said to the angel, 'How will this be since I do not know (1097 /ginṓskō = sexual intimacy) a man?'"

It is about walking and living in the reality of who Jesus is, the Living Word! The only way that is possible is to have a heart knowledge of Him, and that must include experiencing Him. To have a living understanding of The Word. Without knowing Him in this way, we won’t know Him as He knows us. Without knowing Him in this way, we will have no idea of who we are in Him…who He has created us to be in Him before the very foundations of the earth. Without knowing Him in this way, we won’t understand the hope He has called us to in Himself. To operate as mature sons and daughters of God, as a royal priesthood and a holy nation, a people belonging to Him, we must know Him in this experiential heart knowledge of THE Word. To operate as heirs of God, and co-heirs with Christ, ruling and reigning with Him…it is vital and necessary to walk with Him in the cool of the day and allow Him to manifestly reveal Himself to us however He sees fit. For He is God, and we are not.

We experience Him, we encounter Him, we live Life with Him who IS The Word in His written Word, in His spoken Word, in communing and dialoguing with Him, in sitting with Him and soaking in His Presence, in writing down the revelation He speaks, in dreams and visions, in visitations, in worship, in songs, in poetry, in art, in dance, in His creation, in signs and wonders, in our earthly relationships, even in trials and hardships…just to name a few...there is so much more. The words I hear right now are, “How do I love thee, let Me count the ways.” He who is The Word is always speaking…will we choose to listen? If we do, we will be transformed into His very image from the inside out.

We trust in the Lord with all our hearts and do not lean on our own understanding, but we acknowledge Him in all our ways, and He will direct our paths. We have the choice to put our hearts above our heads as we bow before Him, come to Him as a child in full trust, and as a mature son (or daughter) live in the fullness of relationship that He created us to live in with Him before the beginning of time.

I love, and I am in Love, with The Eternal Word of God. He is my Source, my Life, my Everything. My pursuit is to know HIM, and to be just like the One I love.
